Save time and money by eliminating the need for apps and flip-books

The rapid adoption of smart phones and tablets has forever changed how people consume media. This is good for the consumer, yet frustrating for organizations that want their publication to look good in print, on the web, on a tablet and a smart phone. The upcoming webinar, Growing Readership: Making the Most of Your Magazine in the Age of Mobile Media, on May 16th, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST. will teach organizations about responsive web design.

There is no cost to register for the one-hour webinar, but the number of participants is limited.

The term “responsive web design” was first used in 2010 by Ethan Marcotte to describe a web design approach that lets the website adapt to the viewing environment. In other words, the magazine is created once to look good on all devices.

With 50 percent of Americans currently using smart phones and the number of tablets sold in the U.S. now estimated at more than 90 million, the demand for content that works seamlessly across all devices, platforms and screen sizes is just beginning.

This webinar, hosted by Elliance, will explain responsive design and show how it is revolutionizing the way online magazines are designed, delivered and experienced. Done correctly, this can help build readership, streamline the editorial process and save money. In addition, some of the up-front challenges of responsive web design for magazines will be reviewed.

“Organizations are having a hard time keeping up with new mobile devices, browsers and platforms, forcing them to design for a limited number of devices or one group of readers over another, says Abu Noaman, CEO of Elliance and one of the webinar presenters. “Responsive design is the great equalizer; publishers no longer have to choose which platform or device to design for since content will automatically snap to frame on desktop PCs, mobile devices and smart phones. It’s one of the most exciting trends in digital publishing to come along in years.”

Participants will hear some of the benefits of responsively designed publications, including a consistent, optimal viewing and navigation experience for all readers; how advertising and images will display uniformly across all devices and platforms; and how the digital publishing platform is helping organizations streamline editorial and workflow since content will no longer need to be created more than once or modified for multiple platforms.

The webinar will feature a case study that will illustrate how one nonprofit transitioned its publication to responsive web design, some of the challenges of the process and how the move has benefited their readership, bottom line and editorial process.

Pre-registration is required. For information, visit elliance.com/May2013Webinar.
